Here’s what you will need:

1. Reclaimed pallet wood / pine timber (readily available from most building supply outlets) .
2. Pack of screws.
3. Pack of nails.
4. Curtain rail.
5. Rail U-shape brackets.
6. Hilty wall screws

Estimated Project Duration: 2 hours

HANDY TIPS & TRICKS TO NOTE WHEN DOING THIS PROJECT:

• For a stronger, more durable finish use wood glue when joining panels.
• Always use the appropriate PPE when doing these projects.
• An electric tool such as a jigsaw, circular saw, drill etc. make the project very easy and saves you a lot of time and energy.
• Treat untreated timber with Powafix Enseal clear to prevent insect attack.

STEP 1 :

Gather all the necessary materials listed above to get started on this project.

STEP 2:

Measure, mark and cut your panels. Make sure to sand the panels to a smooth finish in order to prevent those pesky splinters.

Use nails to put your panels together, thereafter strengthen them by adding screws.

Use the image below as a guide on how to place your panels.

STEP 3:

Mount the two U-Shaped brackets to the bottom inner sides of the panels with the short screws.

STEP 4:

Once the brackets have been applied to the panels, slide the curtain rail into the U-shape bracket.

STEP 5:

Apply two coats of Powafix Teak Oil – this will help replenish your wood, will prevent it from drying and cracking and will give it a soft teak wood finish.

STEP 6:

Use the Hilty wall screws to mount the towel hanger to the wall.

Now you can enjoy a beautifully organized bathroom!
