Powafix partnered with the Robinhood Foundation and 1000 Hills Community Helpers Centre for the Mahala Market this year, where over 260 Gogo’s and Mkulu’s from the Inchanga Community gathered together for a day of fun, dance, eating and shopping! 

We distributed out x 100 shopper bags which consisted of :
– 5L first Kote White
– 1kg white putty
– 500g crack filler
– 500g Sugar Soap
We look forward to working with the Robinhood Foundation again next year!

Give your home an extra touch of summer this season with our handy tips and tricks below for a summer looking home!

  1. Freshen up your bathroom

Switch your towels for crisp white ones and add a colourful shower curtain for a fun appeal to your bathroom.

 

 

  1. Replace bathtub caulk

Have your bathtub looking as good as new by removing and replacing old caulk with the help of *Powafix Acrylic Filler .

 

 

  1. Add a splash of colour to your walls

Brighten up your walls with a splash of colour – make an ordinary wall a signature one  by decanting white paint together with a *Powafix Paint Tint.

 

 

  1. Get your kitchen in check

Give your kitchen equipment a little spring clean and empty and wipe down your pantry to make room for your summer foods.

Give your dustbin a thorough clean and keep an air freshener to get a fresh smell in your kitchen.

 

 

  1. Wash your windows

5 Steps for beautiful walls

  1. IT IS ALL IN THE PREPARATION!

    Empty out the room, or at least as much as possible. Center and cover furniture with an old sheet or Powafix Dropsheet. Once this is done you can roll up your sleeves and start removing the debris from the walls, to ensure the paint adheres to the walls. This is also a great time to fill in any nail holes or cracks, tape off adjacent walls, window trims, light switches or outlet covers. Use Dropsheets, newspapers, or a roll of paper to cover the floor.

  2.  TEST THE COLOUR.

    Make sure you get a few samples of the range of colours you have in mind, test it on your wall and allow it to dry, observing the colour in both daytime and night. You will be surprised at how what you thought was your favourite colour may be something completely different.

  3. IT ISN’T ONLY COLOUR THAT MATTERS!

    The finish of the paint you choose is also very important. Whether it be a matt, sheen or a high gloss finish- make sure it is what you are looking for. High gloss paint finishes are easier to clean and durable but will highlight imperfections in your walls. A flat paint finish will hide these imperfections but are more susceptible to damage.

  4. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH PAINT.

    You do not want to run out of paint on the job, nor do you want to be left with too much paint after the job! Go onto www.Powafix.co.za and use our paint calculator.If your walls are primed you will only need one coat, if not two coats will suffice.

  5. BRUSH BEFORE ROLLING…

    Always brush before rolling. Carefully use a high-quality brush to paint about 3 cm’s out from corners, the ceiling, and the baseboard. These are areas that a roller cannot reach. Use the roller after brushing in order to flatten out any brush marks that have gone further out than the depth of the corner. This will leave you with a smooth flat surface.
